What is Emergency Dentistry?

Dental emergencies include sudden severe pain, trauma, infections, or any condition that requires urgent attention to relieve pain, prevent complications, or save a tooth. We make every effort to see emergency patients promptly.

Why it may be needed

  • Severe toothache that won't subside
  • Knocked-out or loose tooth
  • Swelling of the face or gum
  • Broken or cracked tooth with pain
  • Lost filling or crown causing sensitivity
  • Dental abscess

After your treatment

Follow any specific aftercare instructions given at your emergency visit. If symptoms worsen after treatment — including increased swelling, fever, or uncontrolled bleeding — call us or go to your nearest emergency department.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hold it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently without scrubbing, and try to reinsert it in the socket. If not possible, store it in milk or between your cheek and gum, and call us immediately. Time is critical.
Severe or worsening pain, pain with swelling, or pain with fever should be treated urgently. Mild sensitivity alone is less urgent but still worth a call.
Emergency consultations may carry a different fee structure. We will always advise you of costs before proceeding with treatment.
If you cannot reach us and have facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or uncontrolled bleeding, go to your nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
